Position Overview

The Warhead Systems Engineering Team is responsible for the design, coordination, integration, and verification of Nuclear Warheads and their supporting systems, ensuring they meet both current and anticipated future client needs. We oversee the entire lifecycle of these systems, prioritizing safety, performance, and ongoing maintenance while collaborating with the Ministry of Defence and other key defence partners to deliver comprehensive solutions. This role is office-based due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Role: Principal & Senior Systems Engineers (Trident & Replacement Warhead)

Location: Reading area

Salary: £47,690 - £80,000 (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the delivery of requirements, conceptual designs, detailed specifications, operational documentation, and validation evidence for engineering solutions across various lifecycle stages.
  • Leading and nurturing stakeholder relationships.
  • Facilitating the training and growth of junior engineers through both formal and informal mentoring.
  • Employing systems thinking to tackle complex challenges and drive meaningful improvements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • HNC/HND or degree in a relevant science or engineering field, or substantial experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering engineering projects with a focus on quality, timelines, and budget.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams to gather and disseminate critical information.
