**Operational Resilience Manager**

We are seeking an experienced Operational Resilience Manager to join our team at Barclay Simpson. As an Operational Resilience Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Operational Risk in implementing and maintaining an effective operational resilience framework.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement the operational resilience framework, policies, and strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the relevant business areas.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to conduct risk assessments, business impact analysis, and scenario planning to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to critical business areas.
  • Design and conduct testing, training, and simulation exercises to validate the effectiveness of continuity plans and enhance organisational readiness.
  • Monitor emerging risks and industry trends, adapting resilience strategies to evolving threats and business needs.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of operational resilience projects.
  • Lead and coordinate response efforts during crises, guiding teams through recovery processes and ensuring minimal disruptions to business operations.
  • Work with the Supplier Manager to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of existing resilience plans and processes, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Review and update business continuity plans to incorporate resilience plans, incorporating lessons learned from incidents and industry developments.
  • Serve as liaison with external partners, vendors, and relevant stakeholders as required, to align continuity efforts and maintain external dependencies.
  • Escalate any areas of concern to the Head of Operational Risk.

**Requirements:**

  • A thorough understanding and demonstrable experience in operational resilience within the financial services industry.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to operational resilience and continuity planning.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, e.g., Financial Conduct Authority or similar role.
  • An understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to a UK defined benefit pension scheme would be advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies used for risk assessment, resilience, and continuity planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pro-active, can-do, and inquisitive approach to current and potential business activities.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, lateral thinking, and flexibility.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
