Role Summary:

The Subsurface Software Support Consultant will deliver expert assistance for a range of subsurface software applications, including SLB Petrel, Landmark DecisionSpace, Geoteric, and other geological and geophysical tools, as well as reservoir simulation systems like SLB Intersect and RFD Tnavigator. This role is essential for ensuring the seamless operation, troubleshooting, and enhancement of these applications utilized in exploration and production processes. A solid grasp of subsurface workflows, data management, and IT support is crucial for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical assistance for the entire suite of subsurface software. Address technical challenges, conduct troubleshooting, and minimize downtime for users.
  • Recognize patterns and opportunities in support requests, providing recommendations to maximize improvement impact and business value.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades of subsurface and reservoir simulation software to ensure peak performance and security.
  • Support the management and integration of geological, geophysical, and reservoir simulation data within subsurface applications, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Work collaboratively with subsurface and reservoir engineering teams to comprehend their workflows and pursue enhancements or customizations to boost productivity and efficiency.
  • Engage with software vendors for advanced technical support, patches, and updates. Oversee software licenses and ensure compliance.
  • Provide technical assistance for exploration, production, and reservoir simulation initiatives, including data loading, interpretation, and visualization.
  • Monitor application performance and usage, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions.
  • Facilitate training sessions and develop user documentation to assist geoscientists and engineers in effectively utilizing subsurface and reservoir simulation software.

Qualifications:

The following skills and experience are essential for this role:

  • Experience managing a portfolio of subsurface applications in an Oil & Gas operational context.
  • Strong understanding of subsurface and reservoir simulation workflows and data management practices.
  • Familiarity with subsurface applications, including Petrel and the Landmark suite.
  • Robust technical skills in deploying, managing, and supporting IT applications.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of SQL/Oracle database management.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, including identifying, gathering, validating, and fulfilling customer needs.
  • Capability to operate in a complex environment, managing multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Experience applying defined processes and procedures.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
  • A willingness and eagerness to learn new skills.
