Project Manager (Interface)

Role Overview

Location: Flexible across Scotland | We are committed to offering a flexible working environment, although your primary location should be one of our operational offices or facilities in Scotland.

Compensation: Competitive salary range of £42,000 - £71,600, inclusive of vehicle or vehicle allowance, performance-related bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your financial, health, and family needs.

The Offshore Development team at SSE Enterprise is actively seeking an Interface Project Manager to collaborate with the Interface Delivery Lead. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful management of various interfaces associated with significant projects, including High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Converter Stations and related civil engineering works. This initiative is integral to our broader strategy aimed at achieving Net-Zero targets in Scotland.

Given the expansive nature of our Offshore project portfolio, there are ample opportunities for career advancement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate coordination between HVDC converter, HVDC cable, and civil contract scopes, ensuring effective management of onshore and offshore interface points.
  • Take ownership of the interface management strategy, maintaining the RACI matrix, and establishing procedures for alignment across various contract work packages.
  • Identify potential issues that could impact costs or timelines, promoting clear and timely communication with other contracts for the exchange of interface information.
  • Support the assessment and reporting of risks related to interfaces, recommending solutions for risk reduction through established risk management platforms.
  • Assist in project governance activities, guiding the project through necessary governance stages in accordance with established frameworks.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Extensive experience in project development and execution, particularly in managing design interfaces among multiple contractors.
  • A relevant Engineering degree, with Chartered Engineer status or progress towards it, alongside a solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience within the Transmission industry, construction, or utilities sector on major projects.
  • Proven ability to manage interfaces with design teams, ensuring effective reporting and management of requirements.
  • Familiarity with integrated project contracts and programmes, with knowledge of FIDIC contracts being advantageous.
