About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal HVDC Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution practice. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and delivery of HVDC and FACTS activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in bids and proposals, and represent the company in client meetings as a Principal HVDC Engineer.
  • Support the development and delivery of HVDC and FACTS activities, including feasibility and optioneering studies, design assurance, and site visits.
  • Lead and develop the HVDC and FACTS team, and may have line management, staff recruitment, and people development responsibilities in the future.
Requirements
  • Professionally qualified in Electrical Engineering (CEng Chartered Engineer or working towards achieving this).
  • Demonstrate a significant knowledge of HVDC technology, along with a grounding in general power systems engineering.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management.
  • Understanding of functional characteristics of power systems and interactions between AC and HVDC systems.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of HVDC scheme design and system studies.
