We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in HVDC technology to join our SSE Renewables team. As an HVDC Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in leading and coordinating electrical engineering deliverables for the development and construction of offshore wind generation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Front-end Electrical Engineering Design: You will be responsible for designing and developing electrical engineering solutions for HVDC technology and equipment, ensuring compliance with project consenting and financial modeling requirements.
- Technical Specifications: You will write, review, and update technical specifications for HVDC work packages on offshore wind generation projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Project Coordination: You will coordinate and manage project HVDC engineering works, ensuring timely delivery and quality of electrical engineering solutions.
- Third-Party Management: You will manage third-party contractors for the effective delivery of engineering and design works, ensuring quality management and verification of their work and outcomes.
- Experience and Expertise: You will have significant experience and expertise in HVDC technology, with a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and industry standards.
- Technical Knowledge: You will have strong technical knowledge of renewable electricity generation, including offshore wind power systems and their operation.
- Commercial Awareness: You will have a strong understanding of commercial awareness, including the implications of engineering activities and decisions on project outcomes.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and contractors.
