Job Overview:

The Excavation Team Leader will report to the Field Staff Supervisor and will be part of the Network Operations within the Powercare division. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our utility services.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations relevant to excavation work.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe working practices.
  • Utilize handheld technology to receive job assignments and document site conditions.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in all work performed.
  • Adhere to service delivery standards.
  • Safeguard company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Lead a two-person excavation team or work independently as required.
  • Be adaptable to undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Represent UK Power Networks positively in all interactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • NRSWA certification
  • Valid UK driving license
  • Towing license
  • Certification for machine operation
  • CSCS card for operatives
  • Emergency first aid training
  • Experience as a low voltage support person
  • Background in electricity network operations

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with trench support systems
  • Moling qualifications
  • Abrasive wheel training
  • Low voltage support experience
  • Sub-station entry qualifications
  • Dumper driving experience

Work Environment:

The role involves working on various projects across the operational area, including planned maintenance and emergency repairs. Flexibility to travel and participate in an on-call rotation is essential.
