Position Overview

Assistant Nursery Supervisor

Nurse Seekers is excited to present an opportunity for an Assistant Nursery Supervisor to join a prominent childcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional early years education.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of the nursery, stepping in for the Nursery Manager when necessary. You will lead a team of Room Managers and Senior Room Managers, guiding them through exemplary practices and sharing your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As the Assistant Nursery Supervisor, you will ensure compliance with all statutory and legal welfare and educational standards across the nursery.
  • Your primary focus will be safeguarding children, ensuring a safe environment for all children, staff, and visitors.
  • Act as a primary contact for parents and visitors at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Collaborate with the Nursery Manager to effectively promote and fill nursery placements, ensuring high-quality tours for prospective families.
  • Identify and assist parents with any special educational needs or additional support requirements for their children with care and professionalism.
  • Support the Nursery Manager with administrative tasks, including recruitment, payroll processing, invoicing, and managing child accounts.
  • Organize and participate in training sessions, both internally and externally, to keep yourself and your team updated on curriculum and program requirements.
  • Work alongside the Nursery Manager to achieve excellent results in internal assessments and evaluations from external regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee children's developmental observations, ensuring they accurately reflect each child's current needs and provide appropriate challenges for growth.
  • Lead and mentor your team to ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures within the nursery.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Relevant qualifications such as NNEB, BTEC National Diploma, CACHE Diploma in Childcare, NVQ Level 3, or SVQ.
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience in a nursery setting caring for children under five.
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality childcare and creating engaging learning experiences.
