**Job Summary:**

Main Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation and Production: Prepare and produce food to the highest standards, following specifications given by Senior Kitchen staff.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and control the work of Commis Chefs, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Liaise with the Head Chef and Executive Chef to obtain a supply of stocks and stores according to menu requirements.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure that all food is stored, handled, and cooked in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Team Motivation and Training: Motivate and train junior staff members while on the job, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.

Requirements:

  • Pro-active attitude: Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Commercial Kitchen Experience: Experience working in a commercial kitchen, with a strong understanding of food preparation and production techniques.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate and lead a team, with a strong focus on customer service and quality.
  • Food Safety and Hygiene Qualifications: Qualification in Food Safety, with a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, superiors, and other departments.

Working Hours:

Varied shifts, over a minimum of 40 hours per week, including weekends and night shifts. Flexibility to provide service and contact at varying times, dependent upon the needs of the business.

Requirements:

You must be aged 18 or over and have the right to work in the UK.
