SEND Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEND Coordinator to join our team at Childbase. As a SEND Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children with special educational needs receive the support and care they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the SEND Policy and the SEND Code of Practice 2015, raising awareness with colleagues, parents, and children.
  • Ensure the environment and resources promote children's self-esteem and self-image, meeting the needs of every individual.
  • Act as a positive role model, using observation and assessment to monitor practice and promote the needs of every individual.
  • Support colleagues to complete Initial Assessments, Action Plans, and Target documents, and facilitate meetings to set and review these as required.

Requirements:

  • Naturally nurturing, caring, and compassionate, with effective communication skills.
  • Secure understanding and experience of implementing the EYFS and the SEND Code of Practice 2015, ideally holding a SENDCO qualification.
  • Positive role model, supporting colleagues and children to meet every individual's developmental and care needs.
  • Enjoy contributing within a busy, team environment.
