Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our senior leadership team as Deputy Head of Physiotherapy and Health Services. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of evidence-based best practice and contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality physiotherapy and health services across Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development of evidence-based best practice in physiotherapy and health services
  • Providing professional leadership and governance for physiotherapy and health services across the Trust
  • Working closely with operational managers to ensure the current workforce is appropriately trained and has the appropriate skill mix
  • Contributing to the development of future workforce planning in conjunction with the Head of Profession, HR, and operational managers
  • Supporting the implementation of evidence-based physiotherapy best practice, including innovative and evolving roles within the Trust and wider system
  • Representing the Physiotherapy Service locally and nationally, as required
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Physiotherapist
  • Relevant Masters qualification or equivalent work at this level
  • Appropriate management development/leadership qualification
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy across the range of mental health, physical community health, paediatric, and learning disability physiotherapy practice areas
  • Working knowledge of the modernisation and development issues facing healthcare services
  • Experience working as a senior Physiotherapist in numerous settings and representing a broad range of care environments and client groups
  • Evidence of sustained practice development and achievement in previous posts
  • Experience of research, quality improvement, audit, or evaluation processes
