Peasedown St John, United Kingdom Independent Health Group Full time

At Independent Health Group, we are committed to our core values.

Our patients are our priority.

We strive for excellence through ongoing enhancement.

Collaboration is fundamental to our operations.

We significantly impact patient care by providing exceptional out-of-hospital surgical services within the community, bringing healthcare closer to individuals' residences. Being part of a small to medium-sized organization offers a distinct experience compared to larger acute trusts, allowing us to maintain high standards of clinical care and governance while being agile and adaptable.

Our dedication to prioritizing people—both those we serve and our staff—is evident in our outstanding CQC rating and the positive feedback from the NHS staff survey. Our team members unanimously agree that patient care is paramount, that the services we provide are suitable for their friends and family, and that they would endorse us as an employer.

Key Responsibilities

As the leader of the clinical workforce, you will oversee management and governance, ensuring that Independent Health Group delivers high-quality, patient-focused care that meets the highest clinical standards and outcomes.

As a vital member of the executive leadership team, you will ensure that our services are managed effectively and efficiently, supporting the organization's growth and service development goals while fostering a positive workplace culture.

About Us

Our Background

Founded with a vision in 2004, we aim to provide patients with the option of receiving treatment outside of traditional hospital settings.

Our commitment to patient-centered care has been validated by our outstanding CQC rating.

Since our inception, we have expanded our service offerings and locations, yet we remain dedicated to making a meaningful impact on patient care and treatment.

We take pride in the quality of care we provide, with all our services being delivered for the NHS.

Job Duties

Role Overview

Act as the Responsible Officer for medical staff revalidation, ensuring that clinical governance and appraisal systems are effective and appropriate.

Collaborate with the Head of HR to manage clinical staff performance and address any concerns.

Governance and Risk Management

Establish a clinical governance structure with clear accountability from patient care to senior management. Work alongside the Chief Nurse to ensure that services meet the highest standards of clinical excellence and that risks are identified and managed appropriately.

Fulfill the responsibilities of Responsible Officer for medical staff revalidation and act as Caldicott Guardian.

In partnership with the Head of HR, ensure compliance with the Medical Practitioners Assurance Framework.

Create an environment where all staff feel safe to raise concerns and where learning is shared across the organization.

Always act in a manner that safeguards the interests of patients and their families, maintaining public trust and confidence in the organization.

Management and Leadership

As a board member, ensure that Independent Health Group meets its quality, performance, and financial objectives. Champion quality and patient care while modeling behaviors that support our vision and values.

Foster an environment where high-quality, cost-effective services are delivered, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.

Support a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to leadership and team development, empowering others to work together towards common goals.

Enhance the organization's profile by collaborating with health sector colleagues and developing strong external networks.

Contribute to annual strategy and business planning, actively participating in the development of new services.
