About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Specialist Pharmacist to join our team at Independent Health Group. As a key member of our pharmacy leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medication across all our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert pharmacy leadership and guidance to ensure medicines are effectively managed across the organisation, in line with national standards, best practice, and CQC regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective policies and processes to ensure safe and effective use of medication, and ensure compliance with current legislation and professional standards.
  • Provide advice and support to the Medical Director, Chief Nurse, and other clinicians to ensure the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medicines.
  • Lead improvement workstreams to enhance medicines management and patient care.
  • Maintain registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and ensure continued professional development and specialist training requirements are up to date.
  • Contribute to clinical governance initiatives and developments, and provide training related to medicines management as required.
  • Act as a source of expertise for stakeholders on issues relating to medicines management, and maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to the Data Protection Act.

Person Specification

  • Relevant degree (BSc/MSc Hons).
  • Current member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (desirable).
