About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Tissue Viability team as a Tissue Viability Sister. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert care and support to patients with complex wounds, promoting skin integrity and wound healing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to patients with complex wounds, including assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and promote effective communication.
- Develop and maintain expertise in wound care and tissue viability, staying up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to wound care and tissue viability.
- Provide education and training to staff on wound care and tissue viability, promoting best practices and improving patient outcomes.
Person Specification
- Registered nurse with a degree qualification and significant post-registration experience in a clinical position.
- Proven expertise in wound care and tissue viability, with a sound understanding of current issues within the acute health service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices.
