Job Description

Job Summary:

The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Team Assistant to join our Assessment and Guidance Team. As the first point of contact for the public and providers of public services, you will play a pivotal role in raising awareness and understanding of our organisation and its complaints process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming enquiry calls and provide relevant guidance and advice on how to make a complaint and information on the role of the SPSO.
  • Set up new complaints on SPSO's complaint handling system, taking lead responsibility for administrative tasks.
  • Work in a frontline, customer-facing role, providing excellent communication and administrative skills to ensure a high-quality service.
  • Collaborate with the Assessment and Guidance Team to achieve our goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years' experience of working in a frontline, customer-facing role, ideally with complaints handling.
  • Good knowledge and experience of a customer services environment, ideally within a public service organisation under the Ombudsman's jurisdiction.
  • Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and experience of a range of IT applications.
