Commercial Litigation Counsel

Role Overview
We are seeking a mid-level attorney to serve as Counsel, Employment - EMEA, for domestic and international employment matters. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of relevant employment law experience. The position will report directly to the Associate General Counsel – Head of Legal, EMEA (based in London) and indirectly to the Associate General Counsel – Head of Employment Law (based in Washington DC).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to the Human Resources department and business leaders regarding all aspects of the employment life cycle in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
- Draft and revise employment law-related documentation, such as contracts and other employment-related agreements.
- Assist with drafting and development of employment policies.
- Develop strategy for responding to legal claims and threats of litigation in conjunction with the Associate General Counsel – Head of Employment Law and Associate General Counsel – Head of Legal, EMEA.
- Respond to audits and other legal information requests.
- Litigate on the company's behalf and/or coordinate litigation and other legal matters handled by outside counsel.
- Develop and deliver training on employment law compliance matters.
Requirements
- Law degree from a reputable University (or UK law school) with excellent academics;
- At least 7 years' PQE, including 2 years' experience at a top law firm;
- Experience with European employment laws, in particular in France, Germany, and Spain;
- Experience with employment laws in the Middle East and Asia is desirable;
- Fluent or advanced level in French or German is highly desirable.
