Job Title: Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at Matchtech, a leading STEM recruitment specialist with over 40 years of experience.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing project teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver construction projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer requirements and prepare design specifications, implementation plans, and financial business cases.
  • Manage project teams through RIBA Plan of Work Stages and company approval processes to achieve customer, client, and company objectives.
  • Apply technical skills to ensure compliance with BAE and industry standards, minimizing costs where possible.
  • Resolve design, construction, and SHE issues through the project lifecycle, using technical expertise and customer liaison skills.
  • Manage prequalification, selection, and tendering activities for construction activities.
  • Monitor and manage implementation progress against design, programme, and quality plans to achieve project objectives and progress milestones.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company and departmental quality procedures.
  • Responsible for Health & Safety aspects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are designed, coordinated, and implemented in line with company processes and statutory health and safety legislation.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Construction, Building Services, and/or Facilities Management.
  • Excellent understanding of the RIBA plan of work and implementation of robust processes to deliver designs within time, cost, and quality.
  • Extensive experience of construction project installations.
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in managing Health & Safety.
  • Proven experience of managing contractors on major construction projects in compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Excellent supplier management and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work for short periods at customer locations, consultancy offices, and travel between locations in support of programme and project objectives.
  • Potential for overseas travel and secondment opportunities to work overseas in the delivery of design or construction phases.
  • Project Management qualification desirable.
  • International Construction experience desirable.

Security Requirements:

This role requires full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to ITAR Material, which means there are restrictions on dual nationals. Therefore, you must hold a British Nationality to apply for this role.

Umbrella Rate:

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e., the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note that the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate.
