About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Construction Supervisor to join our team at SSE Transmission. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our HVDC Converter Link project in partnership with National Grid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the SSE Transmission business on-site and be the key site-based point of contact, interfacing with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all site operations align with statutory, legal, and company's Health and Safety regulations, including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors and the operations team to deliver the works to the project programme, in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Monitor compliance with planning consents and SHE legislation, maintaining routine reporting and oversight of site performance against set KPIs.
  • Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, and the community, championing a positive safety culture.

Requirements:

  • Notable experience in on-site management or supervision working on the construction, maintenance, and commissioning of High Voltage cable, plant, and equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of health, safety, and CDM 2015 Regulations, ideally within a High Voltage construction setup.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple contractors/subcontractors to adhere to project timelines and budgets effectively.
  • Previous experience in quality monitoring through inspection and test plans.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge others and experience in resolving conflicts and planning site activities.
