We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Customer Team Member in our Bakery Department. As a vital member of the SPAR team, you will contribute significantly to our store management and enhance the customer experience. Your role will involve maximizing sales and profitability by executing assigned tasks that foster continuous improvement within the store, ensuring exceptional customer service through our principles of 'Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for Later, and Food for Now.'

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Preparation of all sandwich components, including cooking breakfast and lunch items, baking cookies and bread, and washing, cutting, slicing, chopping, and grating ingredients according to established guidelines.Welcoming customers in a friendly and inviting manner.Responding to customer inquiries regarding products and services, assisting them in locating the items they need.Efficiently processing customer transactions through the tills while maintaining a positive and friendly service.Promoting selected products to customers and highlighting multi-buy offers to maximize sales.Complying with all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards when storing, preparing, serving food, and cleaning the department.
Store Operations:Managing stock; checking deliveries, restocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and rotating stock to ensure freshness and timely expiration.Completing additional assigned tasks, such as date checking, stock and gap checking, price adjustments, promotional displays, and other tasks as required.Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and processes.

Essential Skills/Knowledge:

Previous experience in a similar role or industry is preferred.Consistently follows instructions and procedures with great attention to detail.Some understanding of the legislative responsibilities within a retail environment and the ability to assist with compliance.Ability to contribute ideas for delivering outstanding customer service and advancing the business.Experience with a 'Challenge 25' policy is desirable.Enthusiastic and proactive approach to working both in a team and independently.Prior cash handling experience is preferred but not essential.
