Your Role:
In this position, you will engage with men experiencing mental health challenges who need active rehabilitation to transition into future community settings.
As a Psychological Support Assistant, you will have the chance to contribute to assessments, formulations, and treatment plans for our service users, under the guidance of the Senior Psychologist. Your responsibilities will also include clinically related administrative tasks such as conducting audits, gathering statistics, developing audit and/or research initiatives, teaching, and project work.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in psychological assessments and formulations
- Facilitating psychological interventions on an individual and/or group basis for service users, while monitoring and reporting on their effectiveness
- Supporting the design and delivery of specialised training for staff
- Contributing to reflective practice sessions for team members
- Maintaining clinical databases
- Completing outcome measures
- Drafting reports for various stakeholders
- Conducting service evaluations and other research activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Participating in clinically relevant audits
Qualifications:
- A minimum of an upper second-class honours degree in Psychology, qualifying for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
- Experience working as a Psychological Support Assistant in a forensic and/or mental health environment
- Proficiency in maintaining office systems and performing administrative duties
- Creative problem-solving abilities, clinical effectiveness, and a strong commitment to evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Adherence to professional practice standards, including HCPC conduct, performance, and ethics, as well as the BPS code of ethics and conduct
Working Environment:
You will be part of a dedicated team providing inpatient rehabilitation for men with mental health conditions who require active support to prepare for community living. You will assist service users in maintaining connections with family and friends, creating opportunities, and preparing for independent living.
