About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist school with a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEN. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting teachers in the classroom to deliver high-quality education to students with SEN
  • Working one-to-one or in small groups with students to develop their skills and confidence
  • Managing classroom resources and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Assisting with trips and visits to enhance the learning experience
  • Providing emotional support to students who struggle socially
  • Managing challenging behaviors and keeping students safe
  • Participating in therapy sessions and reflecting on difficult periods
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Relevant qualifications and training in SEN support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work calmly and patiently in challenging situations
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the school and students
