Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in the classroom and working with children with special educational needs (SEN).

About the Role:

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pm, term time only. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of teachers and support staff to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting teachers in the classroom to deliver high-quality lessons and activities
  • Working one-to-one or in small groups with students to provide additional support and guidance
  • Managing classroom resources and materials to ensure a smooth and efficient learning environment
  • Assisting with trips and visits to enhance the learning experience
  • Providing social support to students who struggle with social interactions
  • Managing challenging behaviors and ensuring student safety
  • Participating in therapy sessions and reflecting on difficult periods
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent experience working with children with SEN, particularly SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
  • Relevant qualifications and training in SEN support
  • Confidence and ability to manage challenging behaviors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and positive attitude
