Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers in the classroom and working with children with special educational needs (SEN).

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist school with a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEN. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing classroom support to teachers and students
  • Working with children 1:1 or in small groups to deliver targeted interventions
  • Managing classroom resources and materials
  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Participating in therapy sessions and reflecting on challenging situations

You will work closely with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized plans to support students with SEN. Your role will involve offering a positive, patient, and calm approach to challenging situations, and you will be expected to handle situations calmly and professionally.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Excellent experience working with children with SEN
  • Relevant qualifications and training
  • Knowledge of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and students
