Position Overview:
In your capacity as a Facilities Maintenance Trainee, you will collaborate closely with our Facilities Team Leader and the broader Maintenance and Operations teams to execute a range of critical maintenance activities. Your responsibilities will encompass routine upkeep, addressing equipment failures, and assisting various departments to guarantee the efficient functioning of our facilities. You will receive training to ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations, positioning you as a crucial contributor to our high standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:
- Foster a safe working environment by complying with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Exemplify company values and cultivate a positive, ethical workplace culture.
Maintenance Duties:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks as per the established schedule, documenting outcomes and reporting any irregularities.
- Respond swiftly to breakdown situations, minimizing downtime and ensuring prompt recovery.
- Assist with maintenance tasks across various departments, ensuring high levels of equipment integrity and availability.
- Work in conjunction with the line manager and Health & Safety Manager to develop and execute weekly work plans.
Fleet and Equipment Care:
- Support the upkeep of the DCS fleet, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy.
- Perform inspections, execute repairs, and troubleshoot equipment, documenting findings and solutions.
Site Management:
- Assist with painting and other site maintenance tasks, following the planned schedule.
- Ensure contractors adhere to Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
- Manage work permits and fulfill fire watch responsibilities according to established protocols.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date compliance planner.
Technical Assistance:
- Provide technical support to the maintenance and operations teams.
- Assist with new projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the operations team to understand priorities and contribute to planning discussions.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions that align with team objectives.
- Proactively propose and execute areas for enhancement.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure accurate monthly readings for gas, water, and electricity are submitted to the Health & Safety Manager.
Training and Development:
- Health & Safety Induction

- Ongoing training relevant to the role
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- GCSEs in English & Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualifications.
