About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit community at a special school for students with social, emotional and mental health challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEMH needs and be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour. They will be able to drive and have access to their own car.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver whole class cover during the absence of the class teacher or during PPA cover
  • Support the teacher in personalising the curriculum to allow the students to thrive
  • Support the teacher with planning of future lessons
  • Implement the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding the students
  • Establish and maintain a safe and enjoyable learning environment
  • Engage students in their lessons and foster a love for learning
