About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a key member of our staffing team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences for students with SEN
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support students with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties
  • Support students with their academic progress and emotional wellbeing, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to minimize disruptions
  • Lead the class for PPA cover, delivering pre-planned lessons set by the teacher, and providing feedback to students on their progress
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications and experience working with students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and support staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the students and the school
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
