About the Role

We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at our facility in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for giving guidance in all Environmental, Health & Process Safety (EHPS) matters, ensuring the safety of employees, the environment, and the community by identifying and mitigating risks associated with manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, implement, and improve EHPS requirements and advise management on actions required.
  • Assist management in defining EHPS objectives for the location.
  • Investigate and report on incidents and accidents, and ensure compliance with local safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols, and ensure regular updating of personal qualifications and training.
  • Ensure compliance with the conditions of the Site's Environmental permit and train staff on environmental aspects.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as dictated by business needs and as assigned by management.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in process safety engineering or a related field.
  • Holder of a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Certification in Process Safety Management (PSM) preferred.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Experience within the chemical industry is ideal.
