Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician / Materials Testing Specialist will be working with a leading manufacturing business, based in a location that requires applicants to have their own transportation to reach the site.

About the Role:

The purpose of this role is to carry out routine testing of final products and raw materials in accordance with in-house test methods. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in materials testing, including metallurgical, construction-based products, and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation and grinding of raw materials (aggregates, water, soil, and sand, etc.)
• Sample making
• Physical testing of products, including compressive strength, water absorption, density testing, etc.
• Instrumental Chemical analysis testing
• General laboratory work as determined by the management team
• Data input into a computerized management system

Requirements:

• Previous laboratory testing experience and knowledge as part of a qualification or practical work experience
• A logical and methodical approach to work
• A good understanding and familiarity with the use of computerized systems - EXCEL and OUTLOOK
• An awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace
• Knowledge of analytical techniques and quality assurance processes
