The Role: Health and Safety Advisor
We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Axalta's Huthwaite facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, the environment, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to management and support functions on all aspects of Environmental, Health & Process Safety (EHPS).
- Assist in defining EHPS objectives for our locations, including Aberdeen and Belfast.
- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and accidents, ensuring proper reporting through ETQ and RIDDOR as required.
- Ensure compliance with all EHPS requirements outlined in the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy & Arrangements document.
- Develop engaging training presentations on EHPS requirements for our workforce.
- Promote a strong safety culture by fostering awareness among personnel through communication, training, and active employee involvement in HSE/PSM initiatives.
- Maintain your professional development by staying updated on relevant qualifications and attending necessary training programs.
- Ensure compliance with the Site's Environmental permit and provide environmental training to staff.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process safety engineering or a related field.
- Hold a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Certification in Process Safety Management (PSM) is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to conduct safety reviews, identify potential hazards, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
