Regulatory Compliance Lead - Life Sciences / Chemical Sector

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is representing a reputable and established manufacturer and distributor specializing in niche chemicals for various industries including agriculture, food production, manufacturing, and water treatment.

We are currently seeking a Regulatory Compliance Lead to enhance our regulatory team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to be part of a supportive team environment that fosters professional growth and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Authoring Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and classifying chemical hazards, ensuring compliance with CLP and REACH regulations.
  • Maintaining comprehensive libraries of classification data.
  • Monitoring legislative changes and informing the organization of relevant updates.
  • Collaborating with various departments to facilitate effective communication of hazard data.
  • Supporting the regulatory team in various capacities based on expertise and workload.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Preparation of material safety data sheets utilizing current software tools.
  • Identifying appropriate hazard classifications through online resources, supplier documentation, and physical testing, including liaising with external testing facilities.
  • Providing guidance on the implementation of REACH legislation and offering technical assistance to team members.
  • Designing and maintaining compliance systems within the organization.
  • Monitoring impending legislative developments and advising management accordingly.
  • Updating product classifications within the site’s inventory.
  • Conducting REACH volume analysis.
  • Assisting in the integration of Exposure Scenarios into on-site Risk Management Measures (RMM).
  • Responding to inquiries and providing support to colleagues.
  • Implementing systems, procedures, and policies to enhance administrative efficiency.

Professional Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in supply classification and SDS authoring in accordance with global chemical regulations (CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008).
  • Familiarity with SDS authoring software, such as BarTender, is advantageous.
