About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lunchtime Assistant to join our Education department. As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the welfare and social care of pupils with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate pupils within manual handling guidelines.
  • Act as an advocate for pupils, representing their views as appropriate and required.
  • Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, implementing related personal programs.
  • Prepare the lunchtime area and clear away afterwards.
  • Assist pupils with serving food and taking medication.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with each other and adults, engaging in activities.
  • Assist pupils with daily living tasks, such as washing and dressing.
  • Be aware of pupils' sensory needs, special dietary requirements, and medical needs.
Requirements
  • Good relationship building skills with colleagues and young people/adults.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Basic understanding of technology, including using a computer and printers/photocopiers.
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety.
