Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Surveyor to join our team at Premier Guarantee. As a Risk Management Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing site inspection and technical building and construction expertise relating to the risk management of construction sites registered for our warranty schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect homes being constructed and/or converted, working closely with developers and builders to ensure that the works are in accordance with our technical manual and building regulations.
  • Effectively self-manage your workload to provide a responsive, helpful, and professional service while maximizing time spent on site.
  • Record inspection details on our database and communicate comments to customers and colleagues.
  • Liaise with surveyors and management on technical matters to ensure that standards are being maintained and procedures are adhered to.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to developers, clients, and builders.
  • Advise line managers on technical areas to ensure that team members are fully informed when dealing with potential clients.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.

Requirements:

  • Part/full membership of a professional organization (RICS, CIOB, CABE, or ICWCI preferred but not essential).
  • Relevant building control experience, plan check, and site inspection experience, as well as relevant warranty, quality, or defect resolution experience.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and understanding of building regulations and associated legislation (UK, NI, Scotland, and Wales).
  • Demonstrable understanding of latent defect risk management and methods for mitigating claims.
  • Basic understanding of general insurance principles and terminology desirable.
  • Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to create good working relationships with other construction professionals and deal effectively with members of the public.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage your own workload within agreed parameters.
  • Demonstrable ability to use your own initiative.
  • Ability to motivate yourself and influence others.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience of relationship management.
  • Flexible in your personal approach.
  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
  • Full driving license for use in the UK.
  • Ability to fulfill the mobility requirements of the RMS role, including (but not limited to) the ability to move around a site, climb ladders, work at height, and drive reasonable distances.
  • Proficient in English communications (written and oral).
