Job Description

Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at The Electronics Group Ltd. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and executing all Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (EICA) aspects of clean water design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing and coordinating EICA design projects for clean water treatment plants, ensuring compliance with client specifications and standards.
  • Producing design deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Bill of Materials (BCDs), Load schedules, Termination drawings, Cable calculations, I/O schedules, Functional Design Specifications (FDS's), and control philosophies.
  • Arranging and executing site surveys as required.
  • Liaising with designers from different disciplines, both internal and external, to ensure the design package is complete and concise.
  • Managing external design resources as needed.
  • Compiling EICA specifications and data-sheets for procurement of EICA equipment, such as Motor Control Centers (MCCs) and Low Voltage Distribution Panels (LCPs).
  • Assisting with the management of EICA procurement packages.
  • Assisting with the preparation of tender documents for construction.
  • Reviewing technical submissions.
  • Working collaboratively with other design departments.
  • Supporting project managers and directors within the business.
  • Staying up-to-date with environmental matters and being aware of policy and developments in this area.
  • Presenting technical data or project results to both technical and non-technical clients and colleagues.
  • Maintaining design input throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility to construction and handover.
  • Assisting with controlling and managing budgets at project level.
  • Ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with project program and all knowledge areas.
  • Attending site meetings.
  • Preparing reports.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in clean water-based projects.
  • BTEC HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering as a minimum.
  • EUSR water hygiene card.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in EICA field.
  • Strong AutoCAD design skills will be advantageous.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Project to manage programs.
  • Membership with relevant professional bodies.
