We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Autism Mentor to join our team at Clear Links Support Ltd. As a Specialist Autism Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism spectrum condition studying in Bury St Edmunds and Guildford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with autism, helping them develop strategies to manage the impact of their condition on their academic experience.
  • Work with students to develop skills in managing anxiety, concentration, time management, and work-life balance.
  • Help students acquire, recall, and retain information in written and spoken language, and develop strategies to improve memory, organisation, attention, and numeracy skills.

Requirements:
  • A degree.
  • Completion of six National Autistic Society (NAS) online training modules: Understanding autism, Autism and communication, Autism and sensory experience, Autism, stress and anxiety, Autism: supporting families, and Autism and Girls.
  • OR completion of the Optimum Student Support training course: Autism and ADHD in Higher Education: Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.

This role is subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996, and other pre-employment checks where applicable.
