About the Role

Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a skilled Premises Assistant to join their facilities management team at a school in Canvey Island. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing an excellent customer experience to the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the provision of a caretaking service within the school, ensuring a safe and clean environment for students and staff.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the school premises, reporting any deficiencies to the line manager and helpdesk.
  • Operate the heating plant, maintaining required temperatures and ensuring an adequate supply of hot water.
  • Support the school in emergency situations, such as fire, flood, or break-ins.
  • Carry out routine and non-routine opening of premises and grounds, responding to calls outside normal working hours.
  • Provide access to the premises and classrooms in emergency situations, such as snow or minor flooding.
  • Assist with facilitating the day-to-day management of subcontractor activity on site.
  • Ensure safe access and egress on school grounds during inclement weather.
  • Be available for ongoing evening/weekend lettings and school events, with flexibility to cover occasional lettings.
