Salary: £23,795 - £25,000 per annum (dependant on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Canterbury, Kent

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Kitchen Support Staff member to join our esteemed Bright Horizons Canterbury nursery. This facility is recognized for its 'Good' rating by Ofsted and features an expansive and engaging outdoor area. The main garden includes an outdoor classroom, a cycle track, two low-level tree houses, a climbing net, a water feature, as well as digging and planting zones, and creative boards for chalk and painting.

Your responsibilities will include:

Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all internal and external standards Assisting the Chef in preparing and cooking nutritious meals suitable for children, minimizing food waste In the Chef's absence, overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring all dietary needs are met and communicated effectively Promoting child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding Collaborating with the Chef to manage budgetary constraints and maintain appropriate stock levels Working with team members to foster a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment

We are looking for candidates who possess:

Prior experience in a cooking or kitchen role within a domestic or commercial setting A passion for nutrition and promoting healthy eating habits Food Safety CIEH Level 2 or equivalent certification (to be obtained on the first day of employment) A solid understanding of COSHH regulations The ability to manage various dietary requirements, particularly food allergies Excellent communication skills with colleagues, children, and parents The capability to work effectively under pressure
