Exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead a team of bookkeeping experts in a leading financial services firm. Based in Colchester or Ipswich, our client offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for career growth and development.

The Role:

  • Lead a diverse team of bookkeeping analysts and seniors, inspiring and motivating them to deliver exceptional results.
  • Develop and implement strategies to convert new business opportunities and deliver proposals to prospects through internal relationships and external networking.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles to review and improve team performance.
  • Confidently use software such as Xero, Sage, Dext, QuickBooks, ApprovalMax, and Go Proposal to streamline bookkeeping processes and train team members.
  • Manage the workflow of the bookkeeping team, ensuring timely completion of tasks and maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to agree on bookkeeping and VAT return submission timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for bookkeeping-related matters and occasionally visit client offices to set up and maintain bookkeeping records.
  • Embody a culture of innovation and agility, embracing new ideas and approaches to drive business growth.
  • AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualification or equivalent experience required.
  • Highly organized with strong bookkeeping and people management skills, as well as excellent IT skills and experience working with various accountancy systems.
