About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Operations Supervisor to join our team at Veolia UK. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, and for leading a team of maintenance personnel to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of maintenance personnel to execute the preventive and corrective maintenance program, new installations, and certification of works.
  • Manage subcontractors and provide general support to the management of the contract.
  • Plan works with the aid of a scheduler for a small team of multi-skilled personnel.
  • Carry out Risk Assessments of Equipment Maintenance Task Lists and ensure these are always kept valid.
  • Conduct Periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure documents are always current and valid.
  • Ensure all work on site is carried out in accordance with site EHS and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings and to work around Maintenance Shutdowns.
  • Following training, be familiar with all Cleanroom rules and regulations.
  • Participate in Audits of the Mechanical and Electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions.
  • Drive local reviews of maintenance performance data using published maintenance excellence KPI results.
  • Ensure the CMMS system contains the most up-to-date information regarding equipment data, spares, and maintenance man-hours.
  • Maximise maintenance wrench time utilisation through effective planning.
Requirements
  • Mechanical and Electrical experience and full understanding of all statutory rules and regulations.
  • Time served Electrical apprenticeship - essential.
  • BS 2391 Inspection & Testing - essential.
  • 18th Edition - essential.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Pumps, HVAC Systems, Compressors, Boilers, steam systems, and ancillary services, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, general canteen/kitchen equipment.
  • Building Management Systems and Preventive Maintenance Systems.
  • Experience with a computerised Maintenance Management Work Order system environment.
  • Experience with a documented Permit to Work System.
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID's/electrical drawings.
  • Understanding of SOP's.
  • Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.
  • Methodical and Analytical approach to work.
  • The appointment is subject to satisfactory clearance in accordance with the stipulations laid down by the Disclosure and Barring Service and enhanced security clearance.
