About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Isometric, a leading company in the field of carbon credits and climate change mitigation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing cutting-edge solutions to tackle climate change.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Analysis and Synthesis: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, assess supplier data, and apply modelling techniques to review project baselines, counterfactuals, and system boundaries to support project validation and verification processes and credit issuances.
  2. Risk Analysis and Management: Evaluate and design frameworks to mitigate reversal risks inherent in various terrestrial carbon storage techniques.
  3. Research Collaboration: Engage with academia, national labs, and industry partners to stay abreast of the latest research and develop approaches to incorporate evolving science into the Isometric MRV protocol development process.
Requirements
  1. A PhD degree or nearing completion of a PhD program in ecology, biology, environmental & earth sciences, or a related field.
  2. A research portfolio focused on terrestrial carbon storage in biomass.
  3. A collaborative working style and a passion for innovation, with a commitment to upholding the highest scientific standards in tackling challenges related to carbon removal and storage.
