Join Our Team as a Construction Management Lecturer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Management Lecturer to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As a Lecturer in Construction Management, you will be responsible for educating and inspiring students in the principles and practices of construction project management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, including live online learning, to ensure all learning outcomes are met.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and promote academic excellence.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to decision-making processes to develop productive working relationships within the team.
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Understand and support student needs to ensure they receive the guidance and support required to succeed.
  • Meet clearly defined objectives for student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.

Requirements:

  • An honours degree in construction management, project management, or equivalent, with qualifications at least Master's level in a relevant subject area.
  • A Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification, or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period.
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses, with a focus on construction management and project management.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter, with a firm commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of teaching construction management with a specific focus on building information modelling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to construction at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Experience in facilitating computer-aided design workshops.
  • Full membership of CIOB or an equivalent body.
