Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Midwife to join our team at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Midwife, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to women and their families, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Practice
  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care to women and their babies, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, other healthcare professionals, and community services to ensure seamless care transitions.
Education and Research
  • Act as a mentor and educator for student nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance midwifery practice and patient outcomes.
Management and Leadership
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of midwifery policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Person Specification
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Diploma or degree in midwifery or a related field.
    • Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Proven experience in midwifery practice, with a strong understanding of current midwifery issues and risk management.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
