The post holder will be a Midwife with excellent clinical standards of practice with an opportunity to develop and further enhance skills in programme management, MDT teaching and facilitation, communication with key stakeholders, research and development and chairing and co-ordinating meetings.

The post holder will work in partnership with the Trust Maternity services Management Team, the Head of Midwifery, Midwifery Matrons, current Practice Development Team, and Specialist Midwives.

The post holder will ensure clinical quality, clinical effectiveness and priorities for improving patient clinical outcomes as one of the top priorities and shall facilitate and support the adoption of this culture. They will also Coordinate the guideline development and implementation programme across the division and maintain a robust audit trail in relation to guidelines. They will support with ensuring staff are actively involved in the Trust’s vision to have a proactive rather than a reactive approach to quality and safety management across the organisation, co-ordinating equitable training programme across the maternity service for all Band 5 preceptorship midwives and new to the trust Band 6 Midwives. This is in liaison with the PD Team and Ward managers to ensure a robust process is in place.
