About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commissioning Assistant to join our Procurement, Commissioning and Contracts team at South Gloucestershire Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective packages of services meet pre-identified needs to improve the provision of care and support for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with ensuring effective packages of services meet pre-identified needs to improve the provision of care and support for our residents.
  • Maintain and update information systems and databases, including carrying out research, collating data, and presenting information.
  • Provide advice to customers, contacts, external organisations, and colleagues on policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Respond to queries, complaints, and requests from initial contact with the customer.
  • Deliver a wide range of administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, including recording, monitoring, and maintaining budgets and financial information.
Requirements
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that commissions and contracts in social care or similar services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, contacts, and customers.
  • Excellent written and numeracy skills, with the ability to undertake effective research and present findings in a clear and concise format.
  • Competence in the use of databases and ability to record accurate information on spreadsheets.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Ideal candidate will have an understanding of Direct Payments.
