Assistant Event Manager

About the Role:

GLL is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Event Assistant. As an Event Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth execution of events at our Kendal Leisure Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive image of the venue to customers and the public at all times
  • Deliver excellent customer experience at all times
  • Prepare and sell drinks and food as required
  • Engage with customers to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Actively contribute to the development of the service
  • Assist the manager on duty in monitoring processes against set standards, including noise levels and cleanliness
  • Ensure the security and maintenance of the bar area and its contents
  • Prepare areas and equipment required, ensuring the area and all its facilities are kept clean and presentable at all times
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including procedures related to fire prevention, licenses, food, COSHH, heating, ventilation, energy management, and conservation
  • Undertake cash handling and banking within stipulated financial procedures

Requirements:

  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to undertake cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Cash handling experience
  • Previous events experience is a bonus but not essential
  • Able to work unsocial hours and flexible shift patterns, including morning shifts, evening shifts, and weekends
