Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at PerkinElmer. As a key member of our systems team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and verification of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to junior engineers and designers
  • Develop and maintain system design and specification documents
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and design
  • Manage design verification activities, including design reviews and test planning
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues and failures
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance system design and verification
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics or an Engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in systems design, development, and verification
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • Proven track record of delivering complex systems on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualification in an Engineering or Physical Science discipline
  • Experience with product development in a company making measurement instrumentation
  • Familiarity with product design methodologies and FMEA
  • Scientific background or interests
  • Business acumen and understanding of company goals and objectives
