About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team at Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of visual merchandising, assisting customers, and promoting our charitable mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help maintain a visually appealing store environment, ensuring high standards of display and presentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Actively promote and explain the benefits of Gift Aid to customers, as well as other promotions and initiatives.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including cash handling and banking procedures.
  • Support the training and development of volunteers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Assist in the sorting and preparation of donated stock, ensuring it is processed efficiently and effectively.
  • Travel to other stores as part of a cluster, as required.
  • Support the Shop Manager in maintaining best practice and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Take on additional responsibilities, including managing volunteers and ensuring the smooth operation of the store, in the absence of the Shop Manager.
