About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our team at Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping us to achieve our mission of raising funds for The Salvation Army's vital work with vulnerable people in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers throughout their visit, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Help to maintain high standards of visual merchandising throughout the shop, ensuring that our stores look their best at all times.
  • Actively promote and explain the benefits of Gift Aid to customers and other various promotions, helping to drive sales and revenue.
  • Complete all company paperwork, including cashing up and banking procedures, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Encourage and assist in the training of volunteers, helping to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in the sorting and preparation of all donated stock, ensuring that it is processed efficiently and effectively.
  • Travel to other shops if part of a cluster from time to time, supporting our team and helping to drive sales.
  • Support the Shop Manager in all aspects of best practice and Health and Safety Procedures, ensuring that our stores are safe and compliant.
  • Be responsible for the daily running of the shop and management of volunteers in the Manager's absence, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
