Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Tata Steel. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of capital expenditure projects and plant improvement schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Drawing Office Team and the Project Support Team, ensuring adherence to Tata Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice.
  • Lead a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractors, focusing on safe working practices and providing engineering and technology support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering equipment developments and liaise with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Deputise for the Projects Manager as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in an appropriate discipline and relevant plant experience in the steel or construction industry.
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects and the management of external contractors.
  • Excellent budget management skills, comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels within the organization and have a strong understanding of risk management and construction regulations.
