About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Tata Steel. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of capital expenditure projects and plant improvement schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Drawing Office Team and the Project Support Team
- Lead a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractors
- Ensure adherence to Tata Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice
- Deputise for the Projects Manager as required
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering equipment developments
- Liaise with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
- Degree in an appropriate discipline
- Relevant plant experience in the steel or construction industry
- Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects
- Management of external contractors
- Excellent budget management skills
- Comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of risk management and construction regulations
