About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Tata Steel. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of capital expenditure projects and plant improvement schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Drawing Office Team and the Project Support Team
  • Lead a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractors
  • Ensure adherence to Tata Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice
  • Deputise for the Projects Manager as required
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering equipment developments
  • Liaise with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Requirements

  • Degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Relevant plant experience in the steel or construction industry
  • Experience in the planning and implementation of capital projects
  • Management of external contractors
  • Excellent budget management skills
  • Comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of risk management and construction regulations
